About the author
Academician Victor Sadovnichiy is the long serving Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Moscow State University in 1963 and became a professor in 1975. Since 1982 he has been the head of the Mathematical Analysis Department at Moscow State University.
For over 30 years, Victor Sadovnichiy has been brilliantly teaching courses in Mathematical Analysis, in particular in Functional Analysis at the Moscow University’s Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. Victor Sadovnichiy is a prominent expert in Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science. His research activity is focused on mathematical modelling and mathematical methods of information processing. He has made a considerable contribution to the development of the Spectral Theory of Differential Operators.
He is the author of over 800 academic publications, including 60 monographs and textbooks.
